About Us

Our Story

After more than 40 years of serving as the leader in payroll education, publications, and training, the American Payroll Association and the Global Payroll Management Institute (founded in 2015) combined to become PayrollOrg (PAYO). This change went into effect on May 2, 2023, to better represent our borderless global community of payroll leaders.

PAYO is the payroll industry leader in education, publications, and networking, helping its constituents grow their leadership practices and stay on the cutting edge of payroll industry standards. Each year, PAYO enrolls more than 100,000 participants from more than 100 countries in its training programs, and provides publications, newsletters, and resources to help payroll professionals maintain compliance.

The PAYO Logo

A lot of thought went into designing the insignia for PayrollOrg’s borderless brand. The sphere within the PAYO insignia represents the world, and its upward movement represents positive change and dynamics. The blue color inside the sphere forms a “P” for payroll, while the green forms an “O” for organization. The open white space at the center of the logo represents the “infinity of opportunity” within the payroll industry and the organization.

The PayrollOrg team researched the most popular international currency colors, which pointed them to green, yellow, grey, and blue. In addition, the colors mean growth, optimism, stability, and strength. For the insignia’s typeface, the team looked at clean, sans-serif style fonts in various weights.
